So guys, what is the timeline now?

This and megas being mentioned as exclusive to Kalos in XY makes me think XY is now the first game in a new timeline.

Or did they fuck the entire thing up entirely?

At least that's what I think it is. If there are any more remakes then those will take the place of whatever is on that list and the originals will be moved into the non-mega timeline.

so ORAS is definitely taking place years before XY

I don't see why not. Eventually that is. Johto and Kanto are the problem regions as they already have remakes, but GF could work it in somehow.

What fuck it ups is that in the Delta episode they that the Inifity Energy Technology Devon created is related to AZ weapon(which only occured in the 3DS timeline), and that that technology is what makes the Spinning teleporters work. But the teleporters where present as early as gen 1, in the Sylph Co Bulding, so things don't fit

It does fit, all you need to think about is that some other method was used. Or that the same method was used, but they came about it in a different way. Or someone else entirely came up with it.

This is the explanation for this universe, but that doesn't mean there isn't a different one that could lead to a similar result.

I think original RBY -> GSC are more likely just non-canon/separate canon. There are problems with the amount of Pokemon discovered at the time in those games, the Dex isn't regional.

The girls are the same, but for some reason they're in Hoenn. XY hasn't started yet.

I don't think Devon had any teleporters in gen3 so it should still make sense if it's just Devon's teleporters powered by the technology. Teleportation has been around since the beginning of the series, it seems odd for it to be a Devon invention.

Well in terms of how out dated it is yes, but we've only seen GF do first remakes. I'm not saying they won't remake it before fourth gen, but there really is no information. It's pure speculation. I could see them all getting remade, but how soon I don't know. There is no pattern we can extent to second remakes.

Devon and Silph are competitors that developed parallel technology to compete with each other. IIRC both produce Pokeballs, so I'm not sure how the patents on those work if Silph invented the Master Ball at the time of RBY.

I'll never stop buying these games. I like playing through them, and that's all there is to it.

Perhaps it's not worth it to some people, but eating out can cost close to 10 dollars. Watching a movie in theaters about 10 dollars. Going bowling about 10 dollars. I can afford to spend 40 dollars for something I'll put hundreds of hours into. Even if GF is just doing it for the money I still enjoy it.

Except ORAS is parallel to RSE.
And in our ORAS branch, containing XY, we can assume the sequence of events is the same, except including mega evolutions.

I have no doubt GF won't be making us imagine these for long. New timeline remakes will be abound.

I always assumed FRLG took place at the same time as RBY because of the NES (and it being a remake) which would have put RSE before GSC, because a time machine was required to trade between GSC and RBY, but not between RSE and FRLG.

Next year they'll release sequels to XY, and you'll be able to catch all the pokemon without needing both X and Y. As you can use the sequel in black of one of them. Following that they'll just make more pokemon. And nothing is stopping them from adding more mega's in XY. They can make it a sequel to justify that.

Not sure if impressed with the speed at which they're able to crank these out now, or uncertain with the franchise's future.

If that did happen, it'd better be well worth it - cause XY's story did not cut it. Especially near the end where i got XD vibes - padding out the final few corridors with long-ass grunt fights in lieu of an actual climax.

There is a chance for that, but the reason I think we might get remakes of past gen games is because this is confirmed to be a new universe. And because Mega's are sort of a staple now (like it or not), and we don't have a story updated to include them.

I'd like sequels more than anything, but that likely wouldn't happen.

If it did though there would be no reason not to let you travel onto Johto.

They've also pretty much made every previous gen's legendary available ORAS (except Gen 1's that were in XY), so I don't know if we'll get more remakes this Gen.

There is an NPC in the various hotels in XY who will tell you stuff about the female gym leaders.
