/vp/ wasn't around back in the day but the asspain that FR/LG didn't have any content from yellow was enormous
You can find people sperging on old forums about it.
The fact they cut the big postgame battle challenge is a plain as day indication it will be in a third version for /x/y since that takes priority over any remakes.
And since gamefreak actually like playing with the timeline/cannon and story, despite most people not following it, I'd imagine there are lots of story bits they'll flesh out.
