The reason for the delay in the European release is that nintendo wanted to do a big event in london to publicise Smash bros for the wiiu and pokemon for the 3ds that they have invited tons of journalists to. They couldn't do it last week because Masuda is going to be available for interview at it and they didn't want it to clash with his trip to Wales.

Games that require some skill are fine, for example pontoon or poker, but things like slot machine, bingo and roulette are just a simple random number generator with some fancy animation shoved over them to make the process take longer. Not only is it lazy on the programers part but it is for the player the video game equivalent of chewing gum, for some folks that's enough, as they might find games like voltorb flip too mentally taxing, but I get more of a sense of accomplishment knowing that I had at least some hand in the outcome.
