If done right it can be the greatest feature to a game. If you don't like how G/S did it. Well that's fine. They can improve upon the concept if they implement it again.

Notice how Ash's team changes from region to region. He wouldn't just go slam through Kanto if he started in Johto first. Like what happens in the games.

And of course they can expand on the story, and make the second region seem just as important to the plot as the first.

They could've done something like selling a magazine
This "magazine" is released every week and it's just a page(kinda like the newspaper in RDR) that consist of random articles like the TV's but every week it has an add of Kurt selling 7 apricorn balls at random(2 lure, 1 moon, 4 fast, for example)

The crazy thing about the Frontier is that it isn't hard to put in the game, doesn't take up a lot of memory, and you can easily expand upon it with stuff like Inverse battles, Triples, etc.

I loved this little thing man. Go for a walk in the woods, catch a bunch of Pokemon, come back and your guy loves you, you got some fresh air and some new Pokemon. It was great. And they only did it because G/S had a similar thing that flopped because it wasn't this thing.
