Yearly releases happened

If they got more development time to put in the frontier, gym leader rematches, a customizable safari zone like HGSS, something to substitute the game corner like HGSS, etc it would have been great. But they had to shit this out in a year to keep making sales.

Apparently the thing now is that ORAS and XY were both shit but they are building up to the magnum opus of the franchise. Some kind of Z/Emerald combo with the BF and everything. Sounds pretty cool IMO but it will never happen because Game Freak.

I've played FRLG, HGSS, and now am playing ORAS. I gotta say that I love ORAS a lot more than I do HGSS, and I grew up on crystal version.

exactly, the "magnum opus" is what I figure this is going to be as well .The hype is just off the charts right now. Just a few days ago I was depressed at the state of pokemon with the lackluster gameplay of this "remake" but then I reallized this hope of Delta Emerald Z/Zeta Emerald/Delta Z was possible and suggested towards. Can't wait for this to be announced.

Only things that suck about ORAS are the shitty stuff brought back from R/S/E. R/S/E were easily the worst games in the entire main series, so ORAS were bound to have issues.

ORAS has all the best qualities of RSE and XY. They're not HGSS quality, but they're damn good compared to what they remade.

My major problems with ORAS are:
No battle frontier, although I can live without it, it's still a nice feature to have knowing there is more content post game
And there is an ever so slight FPS drop during battles when it has a closeup of the pokes

There are some minor things that bug me like mauville, and there isn't any real good place for egg hatching, but they are minor at best
