Some of the best trick roomers have 30 speed in the least. Snorlax, Steelix and Cofagrigus for example. The only ones sitting at 20 base speed are Mega Camerupt and Escavalier.

I have reason to fear Mega Camerupt in doubles now.

They didn't remove them, they just prevented the player from getting them. You can sill edit them in. Anyway, their power was nerfed to 1.3.

Lopunny gets High Jump Kick now, you dope.

Also, STAB Return and HJK are stronger than a super effective elemental punch:

Return - 102 x 1.5 = 153

Thunderpunch - 75 x 2 = 150

Lopunny has perfect neutral coverage with Return and HJK, so the elemental punches are only useful when you hit a 4x weakness. Ice Punch on Landorus-T or Gliscor, for example.

You should try the sunny day set and build around it. After setting up weather its Fire Blast becomes ridiculously powerful (especially if you can get a flash fire boost before mega evolving) and also prevents it getting revenge killed by Azumaril's aqua jet while retaliating back with Solar Beam. Makes for a great late game cleaner.

Are HP Fire IVs worth breeding for on a Mega Sceptile? Since cart battles are set to level 50 anyway the IV drop shouldn't matter at all.

Actually... Max invested you are going to get 1 point short in speed anyway. Without any Investment yeah, the speed tie exist.

But a fully invested Mega Sceptile with 31 IVs en Speed hits 216 but one with HP Fire (30 IVs in Speed) hits 215.

You still outspeed almost everything, but you'll lose any "Speed tie".
