It's been sad/confusing watching people speculate all sorts of nonsense in these threads -- what made you think X/Y and OR/AS were suddenly their own timelines? -- helps make sense of things like HGSS having to spell the entire plot out for you (eg hit you over the head with the fact Silver is Giovanni's son) rather than leave some things, sweetly, as nuances.
The Pokemon continuity has always been disappointing and I'm sure even now in setting up a timeline they've probably fucked up one of their character's timelines into a paradox. These games aren't for the story, I promise.
