The story really isn't that long. They never are.

If you save other shit like contests, safari, DexNav stuff, Amie, etc for after the game then its really short.

We know where everything is, where to go, what to expect, gym orders, when to get Pokemon, etc
it really doesn't take that long. I had classes all day on Friday when ORAS came out, got my copy thursday night at midnight and I had beaten the 7th gym before it turned to Saturday that night. I got through the whole delta mission endgame stuff by Saturday afternoon because it's not that long at all

What happened to ENJOYING the JOURNEY?
I've been playing a bit every day since it came out and on my third badge.
In the meantime I play with my pokemon in PokemonAmie, Super Train them, plant and grow berries, and take my time battling, catching, discovering pokemon with the PokeNav.

Why would I want to blitz through the game and be stuck on the limited endgame until the next game comes out?

I swear its like most of you fuckers forgot how to properly play a pokemon game and not like some competitive smogon fucktard

Beat the game in about 9.5 hours. Played Hoenn so many times before that it was autopilot especially with the EXP share. Honestly if it takes you more than a day to play through the story you're either a faggot, casual, or dumb kid whose first game was diamond.

If I could live off Y's postgame for over a year, and dump nearly 600 hours into it, I have absolutely no problems playing Ruby for a while.
Although my already having a living dex will cut into some of that time.

I feel you OP. I've been playing them both alternating every badge or so. I bread up a bunch of Gen 3 mons for each game. I think I have only about 12 hours in each game, but I'm an old fag now, so not much time to play because of work and I was out and about all weekend after picking up the games.

Hell, I've only managed time play smash maybe 3 or 4 hours. Including some crazy 8 player matches on Saturday night.

I don't work again until tomorrow. But I spend time exploring stuff. Just beat Norman about 10 minutes ago. I like to check everything out. Some people just speedrun it to find all the features and unlockables. That kinda ruins the game, to me.

I battle, breed and do other stuff over the course of the game's lifetime, you're assuming I burn through it in one sitting then toss it away untill the next year.

If you saw my total hour count over my lifetime in pokémon you'd be disgusted, but from the sounds of it you're going to put like 40 hours max and never play it again.

If you're legitimately upset about the lack of an endgame, why not wait until after defeating the champion and delta episode to take time to properly explore the region? I beat the game relatively quickly (almost finished Delta Episode) and there are still a lot of places I left unexplored. Basically I want to revisit all of Hoenn without being constantly bothered by a shitty storyline and forced to fly around and spam A until someone gives me the next HM.

Granted I don't think I did the story 'fast', cleared the e4 at around 22 hours which is about average for me, then there was the delta episode stuff on top of that.

ORAS is pretty fun, way better than XY.

And so far, yes I'm enjoying ORAS more than XY. XY felt too...dead to me for some reason--like it lacked something.

There's so much to do in ORAS (Amie, Super Training, PSS, secret bases, barries, contests, soaring, etc.) that it BEGS the player to take it slow and take in everything without missing a single thing
