So why the fuck GF decided to go with Mega-Pidgeot and Mega-Beedrill in an Hoenn game and not Mega-Swellow and Mega-Wrumple-Evolutions?

Because its not exclusively Hoenn mons. If that pattern were true, all we'd have right now are Hoenn and Kalos Megas, and that would be boring.

Except the Kalos dex is abysmal and XY were filled with GEN I nostalgia pandering. In XY, with a regional dex of 450+ pokémon, a diverse set of Megas was justified. In ORAS not.

And shit like Blaziken and Lati@s STILL weren't in the Kalos Dex.

Personally I think they have a checklist of things they want to include and then just draw the rest of the new megas from a hat. Its the only way to explain why shit like Audino, Beedrill, and Slowbro all got Megas before more popular Pokemon.
