The only random shiny I ever saw/caught was a sandshrew in the desert in Emerald. I didn't know what it was, and I was afraid that it's lose the tint and shine if I evolved it, so I didn't. I might still have it somewhere.

First and only random shiny until XY was a Wailmer I found en route to Pacifildog Town in Ruby. I wanted to keep it when XY came out so I went and bought a first gen DS for the cartridge slot and transferred it over. It will never evolve.

Assuming you have an AR or a flashcard, you can still transfer it to a real cartridge.

I had just finished the Sevii Island post-game quest and had used up all my balls on the non-native pokémon.
Was just training Scyther before I could get the chance to evolve it through trading. I didn't bother buying new ones imideatly as I didn't have any intentions of catching anything new

That said, I learned my lession and I always have at least >10 pokeballs at any given time in a journey now and always save my Masterball in case I find something stupid like Self Destruct Geodude.

The only reason I can understand for why people use powersaves is becaus eit makes competitive building much much easier.

Floatzel is also one of my favorite pokemon of all time so it was awesome. I also got a shiny Houndoom in Platinum and Houndoom is another one of my all time favorite pokemon. I have good luck getting the right shinies

lol but on a serious note, I've got some kind of superpower for finding these damn things.

Crystal: Ursaring on Mt. Silver, and Hoot-Hoot not even an hour after that, also on Mt. Silver.

Fire Red: Unown U, HP Ice. Looks cool but worthless. Wish it was Unown F.

Brother's Emerald: Groudon(!!!). I was trying to get an Adamant one to use against my friend in an Ubers battle, but I happily settled for a Lax Shiny one (after only 4 Soft Resets).

Diamond: Ponyta. The annoying thing about this one is that I fucking ran from it. My brother and I had been dicking around with the action replay so we were used to seeing shinies all the time. After I ran, I realized I wasn't using the AR. So I promptly AR'd and caught what was rightfully mine.

Platinum: Wingull, and the first Wingull I ever ran into in the game!

Soul SIlver: Red Gyarados (kek), Ekans, and Bellsprout almost 2 hours after Ekans.

White: Boldore. Shitmon but it looks awesome.

X: Chansey in a Friend Safari. I also wonder traded and ended up with an Infernape at level 59 with 3 perfect IVs and Iron Fist & Thunderpunch.

Waiting to see what RNGesus has in store for me on Alpha Sapphire. Ironically, the only games where I haven't found a trace of anything shiny are my own original Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald games. I hope Alpha isn't a repeat.

I've found a shiny (no RNG) in almost every pokemon game I've had, obviously not Gen 1

Off the top of my head:

Caught a shiny Noctowl in Gold (felt like I was Ash)
Shiny Golbat in crystal
Shin Swinub in Firered
Shiny Swablu in Ruby
Shiny Poochyena and Golbat in Emerald
Shiny Bidoof in Platinum
Shiny Golbat in Soulsilver
Shiny Tranquill in Black 2

Only game that I owned that I didn't get a shiny in I think was Black, but I did get pokerus so yeah, kinda makes up for it

First shiny I got was in soulsilver. It was a raticate.
I then got all the other shinys that you could get for free. Gyarados, Dragonite, Haxorus. And I got the shiny gengar.

Last week I started shiny hunting and was able to get (from hordes) shiny nosepass, skorupi, nidoran female

I got a shiny mawile and quilladin from friend safari

and i hatched a shiny charmander.

In an emerald run, training above slateport, found three shineys. Two within an hour of eachother. Stupid minun was gross, but mightyena and manetrike became bros.

Same emerald run found a shiney regirock. Fought long and hard nod it struggled to death.

Plenty of shines before, but mostly zubats, geodudes and one Aron that used roar. Haven't seen any past gen 4.

In Gen 2, shinyness was determined by a combination of IVs. If you happened to have a gen 1 pokemon with said combination, when transferring it to Gen 2 it turned out to have been shiny all along, even if not visible. BOOM.

In fact there was a trick to catch a shiny ditto in Gen1 using any shiny caught in Gen2 that you could trade back.

So FUCK OFF.

Just back at the beginning of Omega Ruby I came across a random shiny Wingull outside of Petalburg. I'd seen so many Wingulls, and then this one came out of nowhere. So after catching it (I was scared of killing it, and it came down to my second to last pokeball. I was kinda nervous, to be honest,) I noticed that it was female, and combined with the shininess, I kept getting an "I'm not like other girls" vibe from it. And because she was so special, I gave her the fitting name of "Snowflake". She happens to be the only girl on my team right now, and she has forgone the displeasure of having to learn any HMs, because she's way too special and beautiful for that. I'm thinking about giving her a Quick Claw, so that she can automatically go first in everything for no reason.

Also, she's recently evolved to Pelipper. If you look at it, you can tell that she's gotten a lot... err... "portly" as time's gone on. Take that as you will.

XY made it a bit too easy.

Been shiny hunting in ORAS since I got the game as soon as it was released. DexNaving, Hordes, MMing, etc. Still haven't found anything, but oh well.
