1. top-tier players are quite likely to play the lower tiers at least a bit and they'll have a pretty good idea what your M-Banette does.
2. If they see something weird and they don't know what the fuck to expect, they're going to play cautiously. The way you catch people is by faking standard as fuck sets and then pulling out surprise shit when it's too late to play around it.
