OR and AS don't feel quite right. I think most of us share that sentiment. The lack of Battle Frontier and new unrevealed megas is disappointing.
That said, they're not bad games. They feel different than other remakes though, and I think I've finally figured out why. Other remakes were built to satisfy players long-term with a nice post game and all that stuff. But ORAS feels like a main series game with how much they've changed it, not a remake designed to tide people over.
The conclusion I've drawn is this: These games are just a stepping stone. There's another one coming.
