My first (and only) shiny was a trapinch in Ruby version. I thought it was a glitch in the game and caught it because I though if I could show Gamefreak it they'd give me an award or something. Didn't realize it was a shiny until like...years later.

Also when I first played Yellow version I spent several hours in Pewter City trying to get Brock to come with me on my adventure.

That scared me. Also, I wondered why my Kadabra won't evolve and leveled it up to max level, and things like that. And just recently, I think that it was during gen 5, I learned that getting burned cuts the pokemon's attack stat.

I also knew a guy who kept selling all his items, including rare candies, because he was saving money for the bicycle. He also took the advice of using your masterball to a rare pokemon like Fearow quite literally

they told me dialga respawns after i beat the elite 4

I also though that in gen III a hidden physical/special split already existed, thinking that moves like waterfall and fire kick did physical damage

When I was a kid and I had a slowpoke, when I went to the guy with the kings rock I gave it to my slowpoke and tried leveling it up thinking that would evolve in the slowpoke well but it wouldn't. Then I remembered how Slowpoke evolved by Shellder so I spent hours fishing for Shellder thinking it would have to use Clamp on my Slowpoke while it held the king rock to evolve.
I never used Slowpoke before so I didn't know it or Slowbro didn't need a Shellder to evolve either

Yes, it is. Breeding 2 pokemon causes the baby to inherit 3 random IVs from its parents. The other 3 IVs will be random. So, if you breed 2 pokemon, and the baby has a higher IV than the parent of the same gender, you can swap that baby into the breeding process and that IV may then be inherited by the baby. You can repeat this over and over until you have 31 IVs in the 3 desired stats. This can be increased to 5 if one of the parents is holding a destiny knot.

But that's not what OP said. If you have a Pokemon with 3 IVs of 31 and 3 of 25, breeding that one doesn't give you a higher chance of better IVs than one with 3x 31 IVs and 3x 0 IVs.

Ignoring the items, your system is infeasible since there is a low chance of inheriting those 3 specific IVs, then another low chance of getting high IVs for the other stats.

Original Gen 2 breeder guy here. What I was saying was I believed there was no limit to the stats you could raise. Not knowing their were IVs at all, I'd watch the visible attack stat go from 2 to 3 to 4. I thought that with enough persistance I could make it go to 10 or 50 or 100.

Other than believing stuff to supposedly get the SS anne back or find Mew, I figured out the game pretty quick for an 8 year old.

But I grew up playing table top rpgs and other games with my dad, so guess I learned to experiment with everything until I understood it.

I think it evolves into Cascoon if the defense is higher or something like that. I remember something along that line in Emerald, haven't tried it in any other games though.

Was I the only person to name my rival in G/S/C Asshole? I was like 8 and I thought it was funny as hell.

I did the cloning glitch, lost all my box pokemon. I thought I did it wrong. I believed that if you move your dpad with the way the ball shaked (left right left then down) it would always catch it and if it didn't I did the method wrong.

I just mashed the fuck out of the buttons, but I did hold B and > to "reduce damage"

But here's my real story.
