May's dialogue after you fight the Primals practically directly mocks Calem/Serena's attitude in X/Y.

I always felt kind of sorry for the rival in XY (not really,) they always felt more distant from the group because they were focused on their training and then some new fuck shows up, is a better trainer without even trying and gets all their friends to suck their dick.
