>>21903756>Hahahahaha no. You have shit like Lv3 mons in a fucking second region. They were keeping similarities between gen 1 and gen 2 by keeping the wild Pokemon levels the same. By the time you beat the E4, you've already assembled a full team and you don't need to catch other Pokemon for team-building purposes. The only reason you'd catch them is for dex-completion purposes (and it's much more convenient to catch a first-stage Pokemon and evolve it twice rather than catch a final-stage Pokemon, find something that can breed with it, hatch an egg and then evolve it once). If you're hinting that the wild Pokemon are unsuitable for grinding against, then I refer you back to my original point.
>Battle speed anon, even Emerald was fasterGen 3 had the fastest and smoothest engine by far, I'm not going to argue against that. But the speed is just as good/bad as every other Pokemon game from gen 4 onwards. The other two games that have been mentioned are both just as slow, yet no-one seems to complain about them.
>That strange pause because your mons has to enter a ball, or have to move forward to use an HM, and other shit. This is a very minor problem. If I remember correctly, there are very few times where you need to actually use HMs, especially in post-game (where the only HM you really end up using is Fly).
You also seem to be forgetting the numerous improvements that HG/SS made, such as the best interface, best bag system (in terms of quickly scrolling through it, while later games had better organisation features they took forever to scroll through), best aesthetics out of the DS games (gen 5 had this horrible zoomed-out effect on everything), etc.
