I also can't really suggest a specific order either. You could find descriptions of the regions, and make a decision there. I mean, maybe, play Johto after Kanto. Just to get a concept of Team Rocket. Other than that, play whatever gen you want in whatever order. Black2/White2 after Black/White of course.
Kanto is fairly simple, no outstanding landmarks, but at the same time it's not terribly boring. Just nothing special.
Johto is roughly the same thing, with a touch more water, and some character thrown into a couple towns like Mahagony
Hoenn is tropical with a strange and mildly random desert. Lots of water, forest, jungle, a mountain, it's fairly diverse.
Sinnoh is more mountainous, some beach area, a forest, and a few fields and flowery areas.
Unova is modern, buildings, bridges, construction.
Kalos is beautiful. That's about as much as I can explain, is it's practically designed to be a beautiful region. Some snow, flowery fields, beaches, but it's supposed to have a colorful flare.
Play the remakes over the originals, as well.
