Alright to be fair I only pop on /vp/ for about a month before and a month after each release, but I just thought it was really frustrating and an absolute clusterfuck, the race to get dittos and dex-filling people, For that matter, adding shittons of people you didn't know is just a pet peeve of mine. I get they want to make the game more friendly and interactive, and I appreciate that! But I just thought it was clunky and could've been optimized a bit better.

I get if people enjoy it, it's just not for me.

Better than X/Y, comfy as fuck, nice places to explore, good additions to make Secret Bases and concepts like that more accessible with online, and the cut scenes feel nice. Dex'Nav makes it interesting to find Pokemon in the wild with hidden abilities and hidden moves. Compared to X/Y there's way more to do online this time around and far more to explore in the game itself.

8 out of 10, such a shame it will be remembered as the worst Pokemon game ever by older fans and newer alike apparently. Honestly it never was that bad, it's very fun.

Would have been far more loved if it had Battle Frontier, but because HG/SS raised the bar on remakes this one will take a lot of shit if it lacked anything that the Third game had.

Personally I don't mind surfing, but I guess XY spoiled people a bit. You had to use surf like two times or so, where in Hoenn half the routes are water routes.
It's annoying, because you can get attacked anywhere and most people are too jew to buy repels.

Why does it matter if its post game or not? Its bonus content not related to the main story. Before or after E4 doesn't matter to me.

Actually playing the game though, he's far more of a character here. Actively questioning and helping his leader, and saying he'll be with him to the ends of the Earth if he sets out to atone for his mistakes, as the greatest ally. Yet I'm sure people will just talk about the old version more here.

It does matter because the first post in that chain implies that these games are some how worse than XY because they lack post game. Most of its new features aren't technically post game, but it does have a lot more than XY, and a lot more to do Post game if you didn't just skip going to the Elite 4, and started soaring around. It adds content to the game. So saying it has the same post game then XY as if its a bad thing, when in fact its not.

Its got a lot of side quests. Its got a lot of legendaries to catch. Those take time even if they are post game or not.

Really saying it lacks post game shouldn't even be considered at all with wither it is good or not. If there is stuff to do regardless of when it is available. It should be judged on total content. Not content available only after you beat the E4.

Linoone for Rock Smash, Strength, and Cut
Tentacruel for Surf, Dive, and Waterfall

Pelipper can surf and fly, so that's another good one.

Also if you're a breeder, Volcarona is GOAT. Can fly and has Flame Body for half hatching time.

That's always a good thing to do isn't it? Seriously why does what the game not include matter? Can't we just judge it based on what it actually has?

Now if you say it doesn't have content to match these features fine. If It has nothing to do while you could have been off at the BF fine that's something to hold against it. However if there is content to explore why does it matter what isn't there? As long as they didn't take anything out that was already in Ruby and Sapphire, but none of what you mentioned was.

They have lots of coming soon. Underconstruction. Not available shit in a lot of there games. This isn't any different people just treat it differently.

Game Freak did the same thing during the HG/SS remakes to make each admin look more like a character, they did the same thing here to a basically non character to make him more of a contrast, and people suddenly latched on "Why didn't they make him a generic looking big guy like he was in the old game?".

They're trying to make all of the designs and personalities a bit more stand out. Just look at Courtney being all kinds of out there. His design is a lot more memorable now, not to mention all the team members are more memorable now.

Different anon, feeling's mutual. I think people have just adopted the mentality that any post-game > no post game for now. Honestly prefer the latter than something tacked on for longevity. The way I see it, post-game = extra content and nothing else. No matter what's after the elite four, it shouldn't decide the quality of the entire game. Anyone claiming it's a dull experience solely without all the extra shit is playing for the wrong reasons.

I think the games themselves are at least an 8/10 on their own. I love the things they did add to them and appreciate that they're faithful remakes to R/S. DexNav is great, Eon Flute is a neat albeit dry feature, the story's presentation is the best to date. And although Hoenn is a favorite of mine, it's reliance on HM's and it's lacking Pokemon selection do bring it down a little. Still, absolutely solid games in my eyes. I like them a lot.

I think you actually have autism, or some other type of obsessive compulsive disorder or tendencies. The legendaries being in the game should not affect you in any way, especially since you already have them. It is optional to interact with them. Plus the fact that you equate the time spent adding the legendaries in with the potential time of creating new Pokemon or worlds is indicative of idiocy and ignorance.

I think most games in the series deserve 7-8 scores, actually (and the IGN score says "good", so it seems appropriate, but I don't usually read reviews from the big sites so I have no frame of reference). Compared to the majority of video game series Pokemon is ridiculously stagnant. It doesn't really deserve 9 or 10 scores.

But there is a recurring trend where they try to cram as many in as they can. If it's a new gen, we get loads of new ones. If it's a remake or sequel we get loads of past legends. It just KEEPS happening and I'm sick of it.

I think my current only problem with this game is Exp Share kinda makes me a lot more leveled than I remember in the original game, and it kinda removes the need to use all your pokemon.

HGSS had atmosphere.
The level curve is about the only thing that sucked about it.
The pokeathlon was the only minigame they've done that was worth a shit. Be honest with yourself for once.
The user interface was also well polished like the rest of the game.
Among other things.
It's ok to subjectively like ORAS better but you don't need to project your insecurity about gen 2's popularity and pretend to not understand why it gets its credit.

I spent 75 fucking dollars on this game and to get the fast shipping. Ever since I found out about no frontier, which is what I was most excited for, I have been so fucking bitter towards it. It's been like 3 days or whatever since I've gotten my copy and I'm still sitting in Prof Birch's lab because I'm just so bitter about this and don't want to play it. I fucking wish I kept it sealed to sell on ebay for someone that didn't want to pay the import shipping costs, so I could make at least some of the money back

I love the Frontier, I loved the Frontier in Platinum and HG/SS, I let B/W slide because I really liked the story, and thought it was worthy of replaying, loved the PWT in 2 and then I let X/Y slide because hey it's their first 3d game surely they'll get it right next time right? Nope. This is ridiculous, all they had to do was fucking copy and paste the Frontier from Emerald and make it 3d. That's all they had to do and instead it's just a fucking legendary hunt for legendaries everyone already has and never uses. I was very excited to play the frontier because hey, it's the Emerald frontier, except now modernized with all the Pokemon right? Nope, man if I wanted to just play the fucking story, I woulda just played Emerald instead. It totally deserves the lower score than usual score, maybe not for water, but for having less content then it's original game.

ORAS will always lose a few points in virtue of being a remake. No matter how good it is, you're still repackaging a old game. And it's not even a really good remake, not HGSS and one would expect, and the post-game sucks dicks. FRLG had the comfy Sevii Islands, HGSS had all that shit (including a fucking BF), ORAS has a copypasted Maison (I'd forgive ctrl+c ctrl+v if they actually pasted something decent), and a ton of portal that shit out legendaries.

ORAS is a 6-7 at best IMO

That's fine. Pokemon is always famed for its high customization. Basically, you create your own difficulty. It's not like there's special rewards anyway. If you want it hard then you can make it hard.

Don't use Exp Share, it's optional. Create your own team that you want to use. Play by your own rules.

It's a good system. Only problem, really, is that I think people who do more difficult things should be rewarded accordingly. They should really implement an absolute 'Hard Mode' that will give better rewards. Have Hard Mode designed for people who've played Pokemon for years and years. Less hand-holding, Set battle is mandatory, things like that.

Rewards could be, like...I'unno, items that are hard to find otherwise? Maybe special events? Rarer Pokemon?

Although I found myself getting sidetracked by actual fun stuff to do during the story. Even without post game my play time is already way higher than it was months after xy on that game. Xy and why gave me nothing of interest to do as I played through so I just plowed through.

On oras I have been having a blast sneaking around, running secret bases with my mates. After I finished y I had nothing to do but breed and battle.

We want all the legendaries because they exist and are part of the pokedex. You can't exactly catch them in every game. XY didn't have a lot. If we want a complete dex we need to get all the ones in ORAS.
