No one i know ever wants to spend time with me, and I'm always free.

Guess that's what brought me to Pokemon as a kid. It's also what got me to like the ralts evolution line by them being in sync with their trainers emotions.

I feel like in the end /vp/ are the only friends I have and need.

ITT we write that brought us to Pokemon and /vp/.

My friend got me into Pokemon in middle school with emerald. I got on /vp/ around the end of 2012 as a kind of bucket list since I was half and half on the world ending in December

I got into pokemon because I was really into exploring and adventuring, and pokemon is basically that with awesome creatures.

I got into /vp/ when I got back into 4chan in 2012. I was an old old fag from like 2006-10.

I tried to stop playing Pokemon back in 5th grade since I was still being made fun of around when Crystal came out. If my friend didn't get me Sapphire for my birthday in 6th grade, I would have stopped playing.

I still continued being the loser who plays Pokemon, while my friend was too busy talking to the girls who suddenly liked him.

I still get picked on and stuff for playing Pokemon (jokingly by friends, not jokingly by friends of friends), but I fit the stereotype of a person who plays Pokemon, which includes being a virgin who lives in his parents' basement. My parents are still ashamed I play it, and I'm trying to move out as soon as possible, but it is hard to do that when nobody hires you despite the college degrees. Talking more about it will get off topic, but I blame my social skills and lack of money, not the fact I play Pokemon, for where I am in life.

Blaming Pokemon for still being a virgin and never having a gf is stupid, even though I'm the only friend who never had sex or never had a girlfriend before.

My brother got Blue. I worked and did my chores to save enough allowance over the months and bought Yellow. We traded and played together and it was a great tool for meeting new people and making friends. My mom and brother got me Pokemon stuff for christmas and were always sharing my excitement when I was playing the game. They'd ask what pokemon I caught and how I was doing. Pokemon meant family to me.

Eventually my mother got sick and after some struggle, finally passed away due to cancer. My brother dressed like a punk, so during adoption, no one would take him and me both. He told me to go on without him so I could have a chance. He bought me Sapphire for a gift. A few months later he committed suicide. My new neighborhood was less enthusiastic about the game and my foster brother eventually had his friends beat me up and smash my GBA. And I quit playing pokemon for years.
One day I got a drawing pad for Christmas and I wanted to test it out. I came to /vp/ and got back into pokemon and began fiddling around in the drawthreads.
Pokemon gives me a sense of family or at least feeling I belong. Its a comfort

I'm still amazed that I somehow managed to beat it back when I couldn't even talk yet. It just kinda stuck around with me ever since then, and has helped me through some really rough patches in my childhood, which to be honest was my entire childhood. The pokemon games have helped me out a lot over the years, and they're probably the only reason I'm still alive. The games and anime have always been around for me when I was feeling down. The few friends I even have nowadays are mainly thanks to pokemon.

The pokemon games have given me the hope that if I just keep moving forward no matter how tough things get, I'll become the greatest game designer of all time.

I joined /vp/ because I was already on /x/, so why the hell not.

As far as what brought me to /vp/. I was always on /v/ and got tired of the constant stream of pure shit and actually wanted to discuss a videogame for once. I'm glad I stayed.

While I stole his Blue and made a new game, he bought a GBA and Ruby and LeafGreen. Then I got my own GBA and Sapphire and FireRed. Now we have our own 3DS's: I have X and AS, he has Y and OR.

My friend showed me /vp/ when we were both knee-deep in competitive training. I got a 6-IV Ditto and have been thankful for it.

I actually the opposite, am lucky. My childhood was nonstop pokemon from age 6-12. All my friends and everyone I knew was a pokenerd. We all bought the games, battled, played cards, played the toys, role played on the playground... Even our sports were divided into team aqua and magma, I was 7 when I first played Ruby and Sapphire. I can't quit pokemon even though all my friends have, they are in the army or studying and I'm playing pokemon and studying.

I found a Gameboy Pocket in the trash when I was five, so I opened is up with some of my dad's screwdrivers, and found out that the only thing that looked wrong was a wire that had come off of the motherboard. My older brother had a soldering gun, so I got him to fix it for me.

It worked fine after that, so I asked my dad if I could get a game for it since my birthday was coming up. He said sure, and on my birthday I got a brand new copy of Pokemon Red.

I could barely read, but if there was a word that I didn't know, I'd just sound it out and look it up in a dictionary.
