Can someone help me figure out why I'm getting so little XP from gyms? I battled Brawly and I received 160 XP for each of his Pokemon. The individual trainers in the gym gave me 240 each. What gives? Is it a glitch?

I have the Beldum from the distribution, and the Groudon I've had since Ruby that I've been waiting to put in a box, but besides that no. I haven't been using Groudon at all, he's been sitting in my PC.

Define "so little". Using the Exp. Share will distribute half to the Pokemon that earns it, then evenly distribute the other 50% to the rest of your team, so that will barely give you any experience.
