Hey /vp/

What's that one pokemon you always hated but eventually started growing on you?

For me it was pic related. I always thought of Numel and Camerupt as fat weak fire fucks. Now I'm thinking they are pretty cute. I'm really liking the mega evolution too.

Honestly I don't have much experience with double battles

In singles he would be a monster in trick room. 20 base speed and having 145 spatck and 120 attack would be a great mixed wall breaker I think. Decentish bulk too

This cunt. From the very moment I saw it in Diamond, I was disgusted at it's design, even moreso since it was the regional Pseudolegend. D/P in general made me drop the series for years due to how crappy a lot of the designs were.

Now that I'm becoming somewhat smogonfaggy, I can't help but appreciate how strong it is in battle.

Mine is actually Camerupt too. I never liked it when I played through Ruby and Emerald as a kid, but then I did one of those shitty Randomizer Nuzlocke runs, and I got a Camerupt for my starter. Named it Hamshank. Turned into an inside joke with me and my friends. I even ended up making a couple "RIP Hamshank" t-shirts for me and my girlfriend.

Mega Mawile and Mega Metagross are going to be big in the doubles/VGC '15 metagame and Camerupt counters both of those pretty nicely.

I thought Slurpuff was a useless waste of the Fairy typing and had a dumb design, but after I evolved one and played with it in amie I realized that it's just misunderstood and really cute.

Then I saw its special movepool, which further solidified it as one of my favorite underdog 'mons.

I didn't care much for Heracross for the longest time. I was playing DPPt when I got him on a honey tree and decided to catch him. He became a powerhouse and one of my favorite Pokemon. Getting mega heracross too only made it better.

I had a similar thing happen with me, but it was Thundurus instead.

Thought the genies looked dumb as fuck to begin with. However, Thundurus' coloring, cool-ass Therian form, usefulnesscuntiness in competitive, and finally learning that it's inspiration came from the japanese "Two god's" painting all made me really start to love the fucker.
