>>21921534>Half or more of the region is mountain/cave. Personally I liked that they tried to give the region more of a personality, much like they did with Hoenn and the half land, half sea thing. It was one of my favorite things when they moved from gen 2 to gen 3 and onwards.
Climbing Mount Coronet felt really adventurous to me, and I like that. Going back to a gen 1 or 2 game I don't feel like it has that sense of adventure gen 3 or gen 4 does. Then gen 5 had the industrialized feel, which was good in its own way too. I don't really like what they did with Kalos because it feels less like an actual place and more like a game first in terms of the region design. Really unnatural shifts from grasslands to snow, etc. I do get there's a four seasons theme, though.
As for the music, I think that battle music is unremarkable. Most of the memorable songs for me in gen 4 were the town ones, they felt really...relaxing? This contrasted with the more tropical tone Hoenn had in both the region and music.
