there is no real color limit, although i'd highly recommend using the same limit used in these only because compression reasons when i go to rebuild the rom.. as for the dimensions, those sprites i liked where directly ripped from the game so they should be the correct size

you should be able to use the in-battle model, but it might not have the proper animation.. it'd just look T posed.
Thats one problem with this zinnia mod, till i figure out how to swap animations

sure, you can do whatever you want so long as you know formats of the files.. although with this mod, im just model swapping and editing textures.. and some text. I'm not entirely sure about adding content since i believe the ARM11 code contains all the pointers to all these resources, and how to handle them, but editing and swapping things is ofc possilble.

All animations would be in the BCH model data, so my best guess as to why it doesnt work is because theres a different animation for player and for when you're battling them. dunno.. Once I figure out where the animation data is i'll just swap it from Brendan's model since most of the pokemon characters have very similar bone data, so it should work

If you knew how the .BCH file format worked and were able to export a model into it (with appropriate rigging/animation support and shit), there'd be nothing stopping that from being very easy.

The trouble is that nobody actually knows how the models work exactly -- I have texture extraction/editing down, but the actual models are beyond me.

How hard would it be to edit the music? There's some sweet orchestral remixes I'd prefer over in game BGM or even changing Local Battle music options. I think it'd be easy because un-dubs are common, but I don't know enough on the subject.

PPF is something people use for PS2 isos but i've made them for 3ds games too.. works similarly to the 'Lunar IPS patcher' from older pokemon games.
