Because "omega sapphire" is too long compared to "alpha ruby", so they paired a short word with a long one.

Because it wouldnt make sense for Groudon to be the beginnings pokemon, considering his ability would realistically end all life in the area in a matter of seconds, likewise, kyogre doesnt fit the bill of an "endings" pokemon, because while a massive flood would wipe out life on land, the sea is still full of life, and is also the source of life to begin with.
