So which batch of Mega Evolutions did you like better? XY or ORAS?

I liked the ORAS mega distribution better. There were a lot of left fielders and it's nice that underused mon got a bit of the spot light.

XY megas are more competitively viable, but it seems redundant to give a mega to an already fantastic mon like garchomp and gengar.

I think ORAS distributed them a little smarter.

But overall I like XY's designs a little more. ORAS has some real gems like Sableye, Beedrill, Lopunny, and Gallade, but I think overall XY's were better.

I hope whatever is next gives more to Pokemon that need and deserve a Mega.

Voting for XY, because it's Mega designs were far more controversial/polarizing than ORAS's. The latter's were unfortunately pretty bland all across, apart from a few exceptions (Salamence comes to mind).

ORAS had better distributed Megas.

That's just my opinion. I hope they start giving Megas to more Gen 5 Pokemon next, and less legendaries. Legendary Megas are a waste of time.

I like XY better. Blaziken, Tyranitar (just because it combines the entire line) and Alakazam are some of my favorites.

I haven't played any Gen VI games yet, i'm waiting until february to get my 3DS.
How many mega stones can you get before beating each league in their respective games?

For XY, not a lot. The Kanto Starterites, Lucarionite, and that's pretty much it.

For ORAS, most all of them are available prior to postgame.

Also, in XY, the ones that aren't given to you by NPCs can only be found in postgame.

In ORAS, they can be found at any time of day.

ORAS has 7 (Glallie, Gallade, Beedrill, Sableye, Slowbro, Audino, and Altaria)

ORAS for me. The XY megas seem to be, for lack of a better term, edgier I suppose. To me at least. And most of the design changes I didn't care for either. It felt like a lot of stuff was just tacked on compared to ORAS.

XY gave my childhood bro a Mega (Venusaur) but ORAS gave me Mega Metagross.
But ORAS has a higher good to bad ratio, with only Audino and Slowbro to shit it up.
The winner is ORAS.
