One is that there's no other competitive community that requires preparation like pokemon does in regards to IVs. Fighting games? You just git gud with the character. There's nothing but skill there. Card games? Get the cards, build a strategy.
Pokemon? Oh, no, not all pokemon are created equal thanks to IVs. Better start getting those eggs and riding around for a bit to have a CHANCE at getting one with the maximum potential. Not the right ability or are some IVs off thanks to it being decided by fucking RNG? Well, too bad, better do it again if you want to have a chance at winning.
Secondly, pretty much everyone in competitive pokemon cheats because of the enormous waste of time this shit it. Did you think those X/Y battle spot Hyper Voice Gardevoir were legit? Think those shinies at worlds were legit?
