Not sure if this belongs here, but is there any downside to using a non-North American game cartridge with a North American 3DS?

My Omega Ruby cartridge is listed as UAE/Saudi Arabia/Malaysia/Singapore, and other than not having a Club Nintendo thing there seems to be no repercussions.

The 3DS is region locked, you dumbfuck. It won't recognize games made in other regions.
