Yet you don't bother to mention how normal Latias doesn't really have wings at all, and is pretty much a bullet. Yet it manages to fly. Pokemon designs aren't logical. That doesn't mean they are bad either though. With extending the wings, and the jet design they only had a few options. Merging the wings and the arms is an easy solution.
They should have pulled a MegaMence with its hands tucked in somewhere for better aerodynamics. I really don't like them merged together either. Especially because its likely as a result of this that we get the little dinky arm section that connects to the giant fucking jet engine.
