So is it all but confirmed that Deoxys, Rayquaza, Kyogre, and Groudon are shiny locked, and every other legend is soft resettable?

The only "proof" I've seen is the status screen, which the person can easily shinify the one they caught so it has the Kalos Mark.

Until we see one engaged in battle, which is really the only definitive proof, just assume it's shiny locked. (And seeing how there hasn't been any of that and the weather trio, and countless others of the other legendaries... probably is locked.)

Does anyone know what the odds are of getting the right shiny legendary/nature/IVs? (apart from the locked ones)

Am I right in saying there's a 1/20 chance of getting the 3 EVs you want maxed out, a 1/2 chance of getting the right nature with Synchronise which is 1/40

No idea what the odds of a shiny legendary are though. Can anyone help?

Correlation ≠ Causation. Just because the lock is lifted for GTS trades, doesn't mean it's not locked in game. Could be an event coming up, could be other stuff.

Same goes for if it is locked. Could be just that no one found it.

The only real proof is battle pictures

Yes, but seeing how Deoxys was legitimately able to be Shiny in Gen 3, there would be no block on it. So, yes, KM Deoxys should be able to go on the GTS because Nintendo is dumb not to have the block for the marks.

You know, just the same way you can send up shiny Reshiram and Zekrom now even though they were illegitimate in Gen 5. Nintendo's hack checks are shit.

Couldn't we easily figure this out by:

- Catch Groudon/Kyogre/Deoxys in ORAS
- Trade to XY
- Use a Powersave to make them Shiny
- See if it can be traded

Any legendary that shouldn't be available in its shiny form (with the pentagon) will be unable to be traded. If the block isn't there, then they are likely not shiny locked.

Does Powersaves not have backup functionality for ORAS yet? I'm pretty sure it does. So just backup your save, test this out, then restore from backup.

This does work, but even if the ORAS version is shiny locked, if it was available shiny in the past it won't be blocked from trade/wifi due to gamefreaks lazy programming.

IE: Shiny Jirachi from the Colosseum bonus disc(It was supposed to be shiny locked, but some people were able to get one from it due to a programing error which wouldn't pass through bank) became legal and passes through bank after the shiny moonblast Jirachi came out

Powersaves do have a backup function for ORAS. I've used it already multiple times.
Shiny Kyogre and Groudon works too. Haven't tried with Rayquaza yet, still need to catch.
