Why is Route 113's music so emotional? Seriously, it starts off lame, but it gets so powerful in the middle it's ridiculous. I can't believe what they did to it in ORAS with that techno shit.

Route 113 is my favourite track in all of Pokemon.

ORAS uses too many soft/cushy instruments that blur together rather than sounding bright and snappy, and in many cases they took out background melodies entirely or watered them down. Thus the punch that many of the RSE songs had is reduced. It's odd they didn't give us GB Sounds like in HG/SS, but then, GF is fond of removing or forgetting about features that people like.

I'm just honestly disappointed that GameFreak couldn't pull off Route 113. Why do you need to throw techno shit into everything? Techno doesn't sound bad in general, but it doesn't work for everything.

At the very least, they could have done the GBA sound thing so we could go back and put the original music.

My main complaint is that the new music just sounds so flat. There's no bass at all to distinguish the sounds. The original OST had a stunning bass. I'm so disappointed that they couldn't recreate it.

The original desert theme made you feel stranded and even a bit hopeless. The new one feels feels like the start to a Mexican party.
The E4 encounter theme sounds less intimidating than the original, the xylophone just killed the mood.

And so long as were nitpicking, they did a good job with the gym leader battle theme, but I hate that they removed the part in the middle when the music slows down and sounds deeper.

Then the Deoxys theme kicked in and my dick blew off. Fucking incredible, probably my favourite battle theme in the whole series.

this is probably my favorite track in ORAS.

I actually prefer the ORAS soundtrack over RSE's by a lot. The only songs I think are worse are Vs. Champion and Dive, and even those are still pretty good songs.

You guys do know Masuda hasn't composed a single route, town, location or character theme since gen 2, right? From gen 3 onwards he's only done battle tracks. As for all of the songs you both posted, they were made by Go Ichinose, lead composer for gens 3 and 4.

There's so much missing from the new route 120 theme, of all the remastered route themes it's the most lacking imo.
