I would add a new game+ Mode where every trainer, gym and wild pokemon goes up 25-50 levels.

OR

Toggle-able inverse mode setting in the game menus. That shit would be so fucking fun.

I'd add a feature where you could adjust the levels of the trainer's and gym leaders pokemon in the story mode. Have a bar you could use to increase it by 10%, 20%, 30% etc up to 100%. Only increase. That way the player can adjust the difficulty as they see fit. I'm a big fan of just throwing every fucking feature into the quest and simply let people turn on and off which ones they like and ones that give them the shits.

I love all these.

My thing would be to let trainers do what they reasonably could (swim, rockclimb, etc) and use pokemon for clearing obstacles or going faster.

I mean ORAS made me remember the fun stuff like diving for treasure making secret bases, finding out something called braile to find a pokemon, going back to past routes to progess, or new stuff shows up in old routes.

I would make the gym leaders/ trainers pokemon vary based on what level your highest level pokemon was at the time. And this could be a difficulty adjusted thing where you can decide the opponents pokes to be like either like 7% higher level than yours which would probably make the opponents a few levels higher than yours. This would also cause new trainers to learn how to keep all of thier pokes at around the same level while keeping the challenge. Also i would go back to the old way exp. share worked where it only sent exp to one poke instead of your whole team.

Go back the gen5 sprites and graphics and improve upon them since they looked amazing. Make the modern exp share and upgrade in postgame. Take the ai back to how it was in gen5. Make the story interesting like in gen 5. Make cool cities like in gen 5 but drop how linear gen5 was.

I'd take Muddy Water and make it both Water and Ground ala Flying Press and allow it to give double STAB. That way my buddy Swampert (and Gastrodon) would have a reason to use their signature move over Surf. Hell, the dual STAB might be a reason to try and make a slightly mixed Swampert.
