I like that Pokecenters and Marts are separate buildings again.

The only think that I dislike are the new evolution scenes.

I really don't like it is separate. They only did it so they didn't change the original towns too much. It will go back in the next one. Thank god.

I like how they've changed the abandoned ship into Sea Mauville.

Since everyone else is going to complain about the battle frontier, I'll say that I dislike how they've put invisible gates in the overworld.

I didn't realized it how much i missed it until it came back:

"Mandatory" HM uses, it's so complicated yet so simple, it literally gives you the innmersion fot Pokemon games are known for.

As a kid, my favorite city was Mauville. It was gorgeous, realistic, and simple. When ORAS were announced, I was super hyped to see this city in 3D.

Seeing how they bastardized Mauville was like raping my childhood. I felt broken afterwards.

It's the same for the moss in Victory Road (MOSS DOESN'T GROW IN CAVES).

Like: The nostalgicness of the whole thing only this time the graphics are better, it's 3D, and there's new stuff thrown in.

Dislike:
Invisible route gates. They could have fixed this by just putting in real gates, like in XY.
Brendan's design not being the Emerald design.
Like: They brought back route flying (It sees like everyone, including me, forgot that you could in fact fly to a few routes back in FRLG, the ones with pokecenters anyway.)
Getting to see the pokeball you caught the pokemon in in all screens where it'd appear. Pokecenter, throwing it into battle, etc.

Still, ORAS was way more than a re-hash. The story was updated a bit, and the world was re-designed. I'm just referring to the side-bits. That, and while they changed the story, it still kinda felt like the original. These little things, plus no BF i'll admit, are keeping ORAS out of "best pokemon game to date" for me.

I know, but by the time I realized I was light years ahead of everyone in the game, it was too late.

Plus I hated the fact that the trainers don't have the Emerald roster. Not nearly as many double battles. Hell, tate and Liza didn't even have four pokemon. This game was too easy.

You guys need to understand what he meant. He wanted the original ExpShare, so he could be higher level to take on the E4, but not over leveled as hell like the ExpShare normally does.

I kinda understand, but the new exp.share is a bless for the dex completion and breeding so I don't care.

Also I'm playing set+no megas+no gift +no exp.share pokémon and still manage to be around 1 or 2 levels underleveled so I'm fine.

I think you can net more than 200K in Hoenn, whereas in Le Wow you maxed out at 150k~ or so.

Also, E4 is free, while in le wow you pay 100K

One thing I really liked: the various vending machines spread out around the place, like one in brawlys gym, at the cable carts, enemy team hideouts, etc. It was pretty convenient if you were low on potions or there no healing spot for a while and they were just there.
One thing I really disliked: Lavaridge hot springs, wasn't expecting much but they really made it feel like fucking nothing, nobody else in there and the gender thing at the entrances didn't mean squat. getting rid of the old ladies you mingled with was shit choice

Dexnav is a godsend for autists like me + The new Pokedex data on everything is really good.

Its small and stupid I know, but as a kid when you caught things, you always had entries which gave you info about pokemon much like learning things about most animals, and you almost had something new to read in different versions. They eventually got lazy and just copy+pasted one liners which were almost the same every time throughout all gen 4-6 games, ORAS gave you more details and expanded enries about twice as long, it made me feel like catching them was a bit more rewarding.

I like how when waiting for an egg in the Battle Resort, it is possible to just hold up and continue forever in a square around the island due to the camera changing angles. Sure, there are a couple of parts when you get slowed down in the sand, but at least I didn't have to let go of up/down.
