Previous main-series games before X/Y don't mention Mega Evolution at all and RSE fits in with Zinnia's description of another Hoenn.
That another Hoenn perfectly ties in with FR/LG while ORAS does not. Those both games tie in with HG/SS and DPPt which ORAS and X/Y do not.
Transferring a Pokemon from BW/BW2 to X/Y gives you "Traveled through Space and Time to reach the Kalos region." Before, any Pokemon that traveled between games only mentioned either a faraway distance or faraway place, never Space and Time.
This means that BW/BW2 don't take place in the same timeline as X/Y, and since BW/BW2 allude to Platinum (Cynthia and the Giratina incident) and HG/SS (The Rocket member+Power Plant incident) we can conclude those take place in the same timeline which also take place with RSE/FRLG
