Add that to the fact that your best bet against was using Ice Beam and your options of users were:

>Gyarados
>Other Altaria
>Tentacruel

The tow first can't even 2HKO with fucking Ice Beam, your Altaria is going to be haxed to death with Dragonbreath and Tentacruel is one-shoted by Earthquake.

Only surefire thing to battle Altaria in RSE was choosing Mudkip as a starter.

After a cotton guard, it survived a fucking head smash. It retaliated and nearly killed me with earthquake, but another head smash finished it off.
If it had managed to beat lairon, I could've just used dazzling gleam gardevoir. Still- surprised it survived that head smash.

I stalled it out of aerial ace w/bulk up Hariyama. Felt good eating up those aerial ace hits. Cotton guard and roost was annoying though.
I more remember that battle cause my Swablu, Marshstomp, and Vigoroth all evolved after the battle, all at once.
