As for Arceus, that's something I'm not so sure about. The whole Pokégod thing is a touchy subject, and I don't know if it draws the parallels he'd agree with. Still, the fact there's a solitary supreme being does seem to align with his ideals, even if that being is surprisingly underpowered.
The other matter to mention is the idea of Pokémon containing Evolution. Now from an early age I found this a bit off; if they'd called it 'transformation' or 'ascending' or 'growing up and getting bigger'; if they'd avoided the evolution memoir there wouldn't be any controversy, something they could've easily avoided.
