What's the full story behind mega evolution and stones?
In XY the story is that regular evolutionary stones were irradiated by Xerneas and Yveltal.
In ORAS a scientist tells you his research: They found that Rayquaza has a "mikado" organ. It lives near space where it eats small meteoroids (what are we now know as Key Stones which are put on bracelets/anklets/pendants) and the mikado organ turns it into energy that Rayquaza uses to mega evolve. This caused researchers to look into the meteoroids and eventually develop the concept of Mega Evolution.
But why did a bunch of mega stones appear around Hoenn after Groudon/Kyogre released their energy or whatever when you defeated/caught it? Since they were in Primal form, and Primal Reversion stemmed from the Kalos war 3,000 years ago, we can assume that the energy they let off was Infinity Energy, or something close to it.
AZ used the Ultimate Weapon (with the same properties as Infinity Energy) to stop the war and Mr. Stone took parts and ideas from the weapon to make Devon Corp the Skynet of Hoenn.
In the Delta Episode the scientists plan on combining Infinity Energy with Key Stones to replicate the power of Mega Evolution. This somehow will allow them to teleport the meteor into a different part of space (?).
So do Key Stones + Infinity Energy = Mega Stone?
But Infinity Energy comes from dead 'mons. Where do Xerneas and Yveltal even play into that? Are there 2 different ways of creating Mega Stones?
