I have one. I don't regret it though, I was able to restart Sapphire without missing anything and once gen 7 is out it's only one more region.

I did my first one mostly complete one in Gen 4 so its just been a matter of transferring them over to each new game and capturing the newcomers.

X/Y was sadly easy to do.

I was really motivated a while ago, and completed Kanto-hoenn, but ran into a lot of things I needed to catch/breed/level/use rare stones and I lost momentum.

I have a living dex already. And it wasn't really intentional either. Just trying to complete the pokedex through multiple games naturally made me end up with each Pokemon from having to breed and evolve shit.

You can still do that. When you're completing dex you don't care about stats or pokeballs. You mostly get shitmons in shit pokeballs. If you want good stats and a good pokeball you still have to work for it.

Working on it, but only doing 1 of each poke. Not crazy enough to do all forms, etc.

I already had most of the fully evolved pokemon from the national dex so it's mostly just breeding to fill in the gaps.

why does Gamefreak allow this faggotry to go on? You can get reasonable trades if you put something up yourself but getting one can take hours and it's only one at a time

I did it back when X/Y was kinda new. Took me about 3 weeks straight. Didn't trade for anything off the GTS or from any other player. Traded forward from the older games cause I wanted everything under the same trainer name.

Got a legit diancie a few days back and am now waiting for hoopa and the other one to drop.

Wanted to commit Sudoku pretty much the whole time. Worth it in the end though. Shiny charm is good shit.

I already had one in gen V but for the sake of having available boxes I only kept fully evolved mons. Yesterday I finished Kanto, Johto and Hoenn. Blissey secret bases, resort trainers and Oval Charm are very helpful.

I already captured all Unown also, if my autism lets me I'll get alternate forms too before moving to get all available HA mons.

There is always somewhere to go with your pokemon collecting even if you get a living dex you can collect all natures, all forms, 6IVs, shiny and all possible attack combinations or all possible ribbons on all pokemon if you really, really hardcore.

The fun never ends.

You can get all nonlegendary pokemon (and most legendaries) by just sticking starters on the GTS. Kids love starters.
