Groudon and Kyogre still have their catch rates of 5, so they're not easier, you're just better.

On the other hand Rayquaza went from 3 to 45(same as the Unova dragon duo and Kalos duo, their third members are harder).

Really? My fight with Primal Groudon took like 20 minutes and about 20 ultraballs, I was earthquaking it down to red with my camerupt and yawning it when it wasn't resting itself to sleep.
Maybe I just have really bad luck

I always get ultra autism with this and try to catch legendaries with simple pokeballs and I caught deoxys without attacking once on the first try.

Honestly the only legend I had difficulty catching was one of the Genies (I forgot which), where it took 21 Ultra Balls.

Everyone else either was caught with either 1 Ultra/Timer Ball or a few to several of each Ball, after using Yawn and getting them down to the final sliver of red of course.

I retried catching Kyogre 4 times because my synchronizer didn't work the first 2 times, and then I accidentally killed him on the 3rd try.

Just browse /vp/ or do something while the cutscene is going on.
