I tried doing this. Got up to 39 and went in fresh at 40; somehow the AI still had the perfect counter team anyway (and of course, some haxxy misses on my end).
I have no idea how I did this in Y.

That's because in a 3v3 format, no matter how good you are, you will absolutely lose eventually because of hax and because the computer gets to try dozens and dozends of combos of pokemon and movesets before hax brings you down. It's much more manageable in 6v6, which I'm guessing is why they don't allow that.

I swear to god after 17 or 18 the games starts to make hax shit like this way more common. It's literally the only reason why I lose these matches
