>>22000557Well, it was something to be done based with the starter, and out of the 6 possibilities (3 regulars and 3 shiny) of starters, Red/Yellow Typhlosion had the better chances of pokemon matching its theme during regular gameplay.
Shiny Gyarados was a sure, and the other 3 were obtainable very early in game.
Shiny Typhlosion was the last time I got a SR shiny (or got a legal shiny for that matter), the last position was to be taken by either Octillery or a traded Medicham, but never made it that far because my SS got lost.
