Holy shit, you're right. I knew its defenses were huge, but bloody hell.

We're getting so many new mons with overblown stats, and you don't realize how high they are until you compare them to other mons.

I mean, compare Metagross' 80 / 150 / 110 to Mega Slowbro's 95 / 180 / 80. It's not far off.

Their bulk doesn't matter as much when they aren't used specifically for defense. Investment matters a lot, and Skarmory gets Roost while Ferrothorn gets Leech Seed.

Yes, this is definitely true, but when considering M-Meta's role as a wallbreaker/clean up sweeper, it's pretty god damn impressive.

Even solely as that role, 145 Tough claws boosted Atk with good coverage and 110 speed is pretty god damn good. The defense is just the cherry on top. A very big cherry.

The exception is Scizor, and I think M-Scizor is actually lower then regular due to no life-orb. Probably the same for other item reliant pokemon.

offensively steel/psychic is one of the worst stab combinations out there.... defensively it has 4 nasty weaknesses and lacks important neutralities (water, electric, fighting) so it's not as good as it seems. if it had recover it would be much better.
