Even though I started in Gen 2, my bro is jirachi. I used the bonus disc jirachi for my first playthrough of ruby and its been my favorite ever since.

Hypno. The only real memories I have of playing R/B are hypnosis/dream eater-ing my way through the Elite Four.

Shit, since Red Classic? It'd have to be Blastoise. If it weren't for him learning ice beam, I'd have had a much rougher time with the Elite Four.
Lapras was pretty bro-tier as well, as he could take more than one Thunder attack from Lance's dragonites and give as good as he got.

You'll probably laugh, but when I got Lucario, he completely pulled his weight and then some. I almost never go without one.
Admittedly this wasn't my first game, but I wasn't expecting him to be such a credit to the team, and he surprised me by outperforming the main hitter who used to fill his role. Aura Sphere is a hell of a drug.

Getting a not-shit evo was the best thing that could ever happen to it though. Both have faded into obscurity since, which is okay too, they had their time. The mega is actually worse than base Steelix though thanks to the ability and item fucking, which is a horrible shame because it's design's fantastic.

If you really wanted to throw a bone, all it needed and needs is the move Recover, Gamefreak.

My first game was Red, but I don't remember it much cause I got Link's Awakening the same time and played it more.
I got both Gold and Silver when it came out (barely touched Gold), and this Zubat from Union Cave became my bro. I knew who Golbat was, but was amazed when it evolved into Crobat. I ended up going back to Red trying to get one the Internet wasn't really a thing then

When my battery started dying, my game started clothing hard. I went to battle the E4 and had my feraligatr kill the first xatu, at which point started gaining levels even though it was level 100. It got to 999 and then the game crashed.
