The weathers can override each other, right? So if they fought, then one of them would get its weather up and kick the other's ass. The other would retreat to recover, and then when it comes back, it overrides the other's weather, gets the advantage, wins, and repeat ad nauseum.

The mural isn't supposed to be literal, that both weathers were going on at the same time. It's a summary of everything that went on. And the summary is that the world was getting ravaged by Kyogre's rain and Groudon's heat.

The games clearly state ONLY primal X or Y was the threat. That being the case, how could BOTH primals be depicted in one universe?
