I personally think RS are really amazing games and from that ORAS and turned out great, that said the parts that weren't really RS came out not as good.

The transition from gameboy color to gameboy advance was pretty big in terms of visuals, and GF did a great job shaping the way the world looked. It was the first game where weather effects were really a thing. I remember just being wowed by falling rain and ash and tall grass and the reflection of clouds in the puddles and just the overall colorful, rich, exotic feel of Hoenn.

I like a lot about ORAS, but it threw me that it just isn't as beautiful as RSE was. They put in a few things, like the reflection of stars in one of the western routes, tthat give the same feel, but. I don't know. Parts of the game looks kind of bland. Overall X and Y have way more interesting visuals and atmosphere, it almost feels like a step backward.

That's seriously the only complain I have about the games, though. They did a good job with everything else.
