So powersaves can backup your save file right? That sounds incredibly useful especially in a game like Pokemon but I'm scared inserting my game into the thing will fuck it up somehow

My version X got bricked, doesn't even register in my 3ds. Not really sure that it was powersave's fault though. I've been using powersave with my Y and OR without any problems.

Did you use a CODE or a SAVE?
The SAVEs that drastically alter your save game by injecting certain data into it are more likely to fuck up your game than the regular codes.

It does, but it keeps the ability from the Pokemon you modify. So Groudon will have Drought, and Diancie will have Clear Body.

Also I can confirm the the alternate form codes only change the sprite and give the stat bonus they won't change the abilities since they are not considered Mega.

Why does shinyfying require tampering of your Pokemon's PID?

Gen 6's shiny mechanics are different and do not require changing your PID if Kaphotics and his crew are to be believed.

There's two different types. The first is the TID change which removes your ability to nickname and now they just came out with the PID change which allows it to still keep your original TID. Not sure why they couldn't do that without changing PID and IVs though.

So can we confirm that PID/IV have no correlation this gen? I know it was like this in 5th gen but they could have changed it.

Are you UK? It seems to have been distributed a lot more effectively here.

In theory if something is WiFi legal it's also VGC legal, they use the same hack checker.
I'm always paranoid so I'd only do it if you need a legendary and can't find a decent one for trade though, but 99% chance you're fine.

If you were banned I'd think it would give you an error message instead of just not finding anybody.
There's a chance this just isn't a busy time. Especially if you're doing triples, rotation or special, there usually aren't many people on there.

Ok, so I just changed the IVs of my Tornadus and I was allowed to search for opponents on rated doubles. So I assume that, since it passed the hack checks, it would pass any kind of checks by Nintendo (i.e. VGC)?

The only reason I'm asking is because I used Pokegen from 2011-2013 VGC, and I got to use Pokecheck for those.
