Why transfer berries when you can just powersave 999 of each one into your game? Pokebank should support items though, eventually hunting for mega stones is going to be a chore assuming they add another 25 in XY2/Z.

If you're just buying it for one extra save file you are retarded. It gives you as many save files as you want. And it lets you use their save modifications. It's more than just an extra save slot.

And besides, it's not like it's being mentioned because you should have to. It's mentioned because what other choice do you have? Get two cartridges every generation?

Does it have something to do with action replays?

It modifies your save. It's related to action replay. Who cares if its cheating. Play the games how you want to play them. You can just use it to get Event mons, and backup saves if you like. You can use it to change stats and natures, and a lot of other crap to get good pokemon without breeding if you like. You can use it to get a 6IV ditto if you like breeding, but want to make it quicker.

Really just use the features you want to use, and why does it matter what it's labeled as?

Even if it did it backs up your save so you could just restore it. No it doesn't do that.

It can have problems if you do specific things with it. Like if you shinify using the PID method, and you're using a traded pokemon. That can corrupt the save, but if that does happen you can just restore the save.

In short there are very few things that can cause it to corrupt a save, but if it does happen just don't do that specific combination of codes and mons again. And backup the save that it created right before it rewrote your cartridge.
