To be frank, yes, it does.
Unlike Gen V (which only has Ferrothorn), you gey a wide array of interesting and loveable grassmons.

Literally my Emerald mono grass team. Poor Cacturne, with only Faint Attack and Needle Arm as 60bp offensive moves... Sandstorm and Veil with Leech Seed was hilarious though. Tropius had Sunny Day, Synthesis, Fly and Solarbeam, it worked really well.

How would that team work now? Will Champion Forrest have his day again?

I'm actually using a Cacturne for the first time, and it's been pretty good, though it is just ingame.
Dat Atk and Water Absorb are great, but defence could be better, but that could just be on me.

In my own opinion, Gen 5 and 6 had the most interesting grass types.
