Pachirisu isn't even his favorite. He used it because it filled a niche and provided critical team support. One of the few Follow Me users allowed at the time, could redirect Thunderbolts aimed at Gyarados or Talonflame and use Volt Absorb to heal, and had enough bulk to take a Draco Meteor.

People were overprepared for Amoonguss and its Rage Powder/Spore this year. Pachirisu's Follow Me gets through Grass Pokemon and Safety Goggles. Basically, it had the element of surprise. If someone tried to use Pachirisu next time it probably wouldn't go so well.

you're actually wrong on this part. As Scott said on NB forums, no one who was seriously in contention for worlds was surprised by Pachirisu or didn't know what it could do. Angel Miranda and Simon Yip had used it in an international challenge before worlds. Now, knowing what pachy can do and being prepared for it are two different things. Just because you know pachy can use follow me doesn't mean you have a good way to defeat it or its partners, especially if you were relying on safety goggles users or grass types to beat redirection (i.e amoonguss's rage powder)

probably not, we'll have access to better follow me users like togekiss. granted, pachy can probably support mega gyarados better than toge but I doubt sejun will use gyara. he does seem to be a fan of redirection having used it in two world championships now (magmar in 2013, pachy in 2014)

He had literally never used Pachi before Worlds 2014, and since 15 will probably have an expanded format I doubt we'll see him use it again anytime soon.

I don't think people realize that he didn't pick Pachi because he liked it, he picked it because it filled a specific role on his team. Like any good player he's not going to use it for kicks if it no longer useful.

Who in their right mind uses a Pachirisu competitively? Nobody. It's not something anybody even considered how to deal with before their match.

If you keep abusing the same surprise tactic over and over it's going to lose the surprise value.
