Would you support Gamefreak introducing "event shinies" and "event abilities" like they do with event moves like "Petal dance Meowth" or "Wish Chansey"? They could be distributed in places like Gamestop or they could be prizes for finishing console side games.

Half the reason the Pentagon became a thing in Gen 6 was because of too fuck many random 'Official' event mons with super special moves making it impossible to keep track of what was legal or not.

Hell technically crap like Lovely Kiss Nidoking was once a thing.

I wouldn't mind a color even rarer than shiny. Like, albino or melanic pokemon. If the chance for shiny is 1 in 8000, the chance for "event" shiny is 1 in 16,000, and there are no ways to increase that chance.

This is even rarer you're saying. And you can't increase the odds. So you'd either have them come up with new colors for every single mon. Have them actually look good. And do this even though almost no one will ever see one.

Then there is the fact that people could still hack them in. And as long as you can access saves this will always be true. And since these things can really exist you can't really detect it if it looks legit. So hackers would just have tons, and no one else would ever see them. And if they didn't spend the time to get colors that looked good then most could just look shitty. Its just not worth it.

fuck "event shinies", what we need is a fucking special mega distribution no im not talking about the stupid sludge wave gengar with "exclusive moves", but actual movesets that would benefit the mons(elemental fangs sharpedo, focus blast pidgeot, knock off metagross, draco meteor salamence, bravebird aerodactyl,etc),but sure lets make some of the same old mons into whatever color the casuals want.

Everyone hates going to Gamestop for the event, but they fail to understand that this is a business decision. Gamestop wants people in the store and that can potentially mean money in their pocket.

I'm not entirely sure why TRU dropped the events since it was much better to go to TRU since they'd usually have some deal going on too with Pokemon merch.

As for Event Shinies, I think it could be good, but I'd like to see more event abilities like you mentioned. I love collecting Event mons, and ones with special abilities are much more fun to have then just random/legendary shiny.

I don't know if having them as a physical event in a store though would be a wise decision. Those should work fine as Wi-Fi events, or distribute them through Nintendo Zones or something. Japan has a Pikachu event in McDonalds like every other year, why the fuck haven't they done it for us yet.

Yes if they're useless, otherwise no, shit would be stupid like any card game meta. Specially if they actually count the pokèmon distrubuted so you can't gen them.

Also, an alternative (if they keep up the download code thing) would be to insert the code into a pack of TCG cards. They're already doing this in japan with those food things, so here they can just stick it into the TCG packs with the TCGO codes. Put the code in your game and boom, you've got a special pokemon.

I think that event moves were a terrible idea, and event abilities even moreso. However, I think that aesthetic changes (Palette swapped mons/ things like notch-eared pichu) would be pretty neat.
