That's true, but as an adult, it's balanced out by the fact that you have the resources and independence to DO certain things at are just as adventurous and filled with wonder as what a child daydreams about
That is, if you aren't
1. Broke and uninterested in finding out a way to not be broke
2. Uncreative
3. Unwilling to go outside and get to know yourself better instead living vicariously through fake stuff
The video games and cartoons were meant to to inspire you to go on your OWN adventures, not for you to stay still and watch people adventure on a screen forever
I like pokemon now and then, but as adults, the threshold for getting our minds blown has increased - that's not a depressing thing, that's just a challenge
