I don't care for a shiny, I'm mainly going for 5 IVs. Which normally wouldn't take long nowadays because they've made all(?) legendaries have 2-3 guaranteed 31ivs every time.
What exactly is wrong with wanting a good legendary, even if it's just going to sit in your box?

sorry to bump, but is it possible to soft reset the latios gifted to you to get it shiny?
Googling leads to various speculations, but doesn't confirm if it's possible or not.

Also, does synchronize work for gifted pokemon?

I can't say for sure if synchro works for gift pokémon, but I had a timid ralts leading during that part and the vast majority of the resets latios was coming with timid nature
